The New York Yankees continue to sit Ben Rice against left-handed pitching.
Each time it happens, manager Aaron Boone insists that it's not just a straightforward platoon and that Rice will get plenty of action against lefties.
It keeps happening, though.
That includes Wednesday night. Rice isn't in the lineup at Fenway Park as the Yankees take on the Boston Red Sox and southpaw Ranger Suarez.

All four Yankees on the bench are left-handed hitters: Rice, J.C. Escarra, Trent Grisham and Ryan McMahon.
The Yankees have a lefty-heavy roster, so Boone has been pretty insistent on sitting at least some of them each time they play a left-hander.
But Rice? He's been one of the best hitters in baseball in the early going. And he's got a better chance at being solid against lefties if he actually can be in the lineup to hit against them.
Maybe at some point, Boone will free Rice and allow him to simply be in the lineup day in and day out.
For now, more frustration for Rice and the Yankees fanbase.
