Brendan Beck had his contract selected from Triple-A by the Yankees on Thursday, the AL East club announced. The 27-year-old is ranked as the Yankees' No. 21 prospect by MLB Pipeline and could piggyback Blackburn today.
"Heās a soft-tossing righty with plus command whose pro career has been marred by injuries," Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors wrote. "Beck required Tommy John surgery not long after being drafted and then missed all of the 2024 campaign due to another elbow surgery."
Beck got off to a rocky start in the minors, posting a 5.11 ERA with seven home runs allowed in seven starts. However, the Yankees need an innings eater, and hopefully, he can provide length to save some bullets in the bullpen.
