“He’s upped what he’s been able to do, but I don’t think it allows us to clear him to really start ramping up the running yet,’’ Boone said after the Yanks’ 7-0 loss to the Orioles, who limited them to one hit – a Jazz Chisholm Jr. double.
Stanton was injured in a play on the bases at Houston, April 24, and has been on the 10-day injury list retroactive to April 25.
Jasson Dominguez came up from Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to replace Stanton on the active roster.
Last week, Dominguez crashed into the outfield wall at Yankee Stadium and suffered a left shoulder injury, leading to the call-up of power hitting prospect Spencer Jones.
Over his first five MLB games, Jones is 1-for-12 with an RBI single and three walks.
