Yankees trade proposal moves on from Spencer Jones, Jasson Dominguez, and Carlos Lagrange for a first-ballot Hall of Famer

In a recent trade proposal, however, the Yankees would be giving up a bit too much to land a player who has dealt with injuries for a lot of his career now.

Angels Get: Jasson Domínguez, Spencer Jones, Carlos Lagrange

“The Yankees would only consider this trade because they’re already in an all-in position. At 25–12 with the best record in the American League, the New York Yankees would view themselves as legitimate World Series favorites and look to maximize a clear championship window.

“In that context, adding Mike Trout is about pushing from contender to powerhouse. Even with age and injury risk, he would be seen as a short-term, high-impact upgrade who can elevate the lineup alongside Aaron Judge in October,” Ryan Shea of SI wrote.

If Trout hadn't been dealing with these injuries, that trade package wouldn't even be close to enough to land him. However, because of those injuries, I'm not sure if I want to give up a guy like Lagrange.

I'm totally OK with moving on from Dominguez and Jones, and I know the Yankees would have to give up more than just those two guys for Trout.

It's tough to say what the right deal should be, as Trout has been incredible this year, but history has to be somewhat factored in here.
