The Atlanta Falcons haven't posted a winning record since 2017. However, that's not because of a lack of talent. Heading into the 2026 campaign few teams around the NFC have a better group of offensive skill players - and that group should be about to get even better.
The newest addition to the bunch is former Georgia wide receiver Zachariah Branch, who should fill in one of the team's biggest roster holes: the gaping chasm between Drake London and the rest of Atlanta's receiver corps.
Bleacher Report has named Branch among five rookies who have a chance to out-play their NFL Draft value.
"Anyone who favors size at receiver will overlook Zachariah Branch, though he's exactly what the Atlanta Falcons need at the position...Although Branch is 5'9", 177 pounds, he's capable of providing a spark to an offense that needs his 4.35 speed in a complementary receiver role. In college, Branch operated primarily out of the slot, though in the same role, he could be the Falcons' No. 2 receiver behind London..."
That Branch has such a radically different skillset than London is a very positive sign for his ceiling in the NFL. His short-space quickness and ability to operate in space make him a potential home-run threat every time he touches the ball, which will translate into stretching defenses horizontally - and a lot of quick-hitting first down targets for Branch.
The primary obstacle between Branch and a serious role on offense is Jahan Dotson, who has yet to really impress after the Washington Commanders drafted him in the first round four years ago.
If Branch can prove that he's more efficient and explosive than Dotson over the summer, he should be in line to receive as much attention as any receiver not named London.
