Finally, Kentucky Basketball has its point guard
On Wednesday, Washington Huskies transfer Zoom Diallo made his commitment to the Wildcats. It marks Kentucky’s first transfer portal commitment of the 2026 cycle.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony broke the news first.
As a sophomore this past season, the 6-4, 180-pound Diallo appeared in 33 games (29 starts), averaging 15.7 points (48.9% shooting and 31.5% on 3-point shots), 4.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds across 29.6 minutes per game. He scored 21+ points in four of his last five games while dishing out 18 assists over his final two contests.
As a freshman in the 2024-25 season, the Tacoma (WA) native appeared in 31 games (22 starts) and averaged 11.1 points (47.3% shooting and 18.2% on 3-pointers), 2.7 assists, and 3.1 rebounds across 25.2 minutes per game.
An added bonus of getting Diallo is that he has at least two seasons of eligibility remaining, and potentially three if the 5-in-5 proposal passes.
Diallo was originally the 42nd-ranked recruit in the class of 2024 out of Prolific Prep in California, where he teamed up with 2026 Kentucky recruiting target Tyran Stokes.
