The Zuffa Boxing roster has grown by two, as the promotion announced the signing of Edger Berlanga and reigning IBF junior welterweight champion Richardson Hitchins.
Berlanga owns a career record of 23-2, including 18 wins by knockout. He scored a bout with Canelo Alvarez in 2024, battling the legend to a decision loss.
"Zuffa Boxing is changing the game," Berlanga said (thanks to ESPN for the quotes). "I'm here for the biggest fights on boxing's best platform. I'm here to put the super middleweight division on notice.
"Thank you to Dana White, Nick Khan and the entire Zuffa Boxing team for believing in my talent. This is going to be a special journey."
The 28-year-old first made a name for himself on the amateur scene, winning gold and bronze at the US Youth National Championships. He won his first 22 pro bouts before the loss to Alvarez for the WBA, WBC, WBO and The Ring super middleweight titles.
Hitchins, meanwhile, is 20-0 with eight knockouts. He picked up the IBF title with a split decision over Liam Paro, successfully defending it vs. George Kambosos Jr. last summer.
"This is a major step forward in my career," Hitchins said. "I'm very grateful for this opportunity, and I want to thank Dana White, Nick Khan and my manager, Keith Connolly, for giving a kid from Brooklyn the opportunity to fight on the biggest stage against the world's best fighters.
"With Zuffa Boxing in my corner, I'm going to show the world that I am a pound-for-pound, generational fighter."
Hitchins, also a 28-year-old from Brooklyn like Berlanga, won the New York Golden Gloves twice and competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics, falling to Gary Antuanne Russell.
He won his first pro title in 2022 with a finish of Yomar Alamo for the IBF North American light welterweight belt, adding to his collection a year later with a victory over Jose Zepeda.
