The Philadelphia 76ers have received a lot of fantastic play out of rookie VJ Edgecombe. The No. 3 overall pick is having a terrific season averaging 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 43.8% from the floor and 35.7% from deep. He has not been phased by any challenges and continues to show a lot of poise for a 20 year old rookie.
As Edgecombe continues to progress, he will be faced with the pressures of playing in his first postseason game coming up. Whether the Sixers start in the play-in tournament or straight to the playoffs remains to be seen, but Edgecombe will have to be ready for whatever challenge is presented to him--as he has all season.
Edgecombe recently had a film session with Sixers legend Allen Iverson and he received a lot of praise from the man they call "The Answer" for what he's been able to do.
Edgecombe and the Sixers will continue their final 3-game road trip of the regular season on Thursday when they take on the Houston Rockets. The Sixers find themselves a full game back of the Toronto Raptors for the sixth and final guaranteed playoff spot with three games to play for each team. Philadelphia will need a little bit of help, but it does hold the tiebreaker so that's something to have in its back pocket.
