Auburn University athletics has begun a new coaching search.
Auburn athletics shared Monday that the University and Auburn gymnastics head coach Jeff Graba have mutually agreed to part ways after 16 seasons.
âI want to thank Auburn University for taking a chance on me 16 years ago,â Graba said in a press release. âBeing at the helm of this program has been an honor, and it has been a privilege to coach this team. I am proud of the opportunity our coaching staff has had to help our student-athletes achieve their goals and dreams â whether it be competing in the Olympics, or for an SEC or National Championship. Thank you, Auburn, for welcoming the Graba family and giving Bridget and me the chance to raise our family here in Auburn â including two daughters receiving Auburn University degrees.â
Graba became the head coach of Auburn gymnastics before the 2010 season, and would go on to lead the program to 13 NCAA postseason berths, one regional championship, and one Final Four. He also led Derrian Gobourne and Olympic Gold Medalist Suni Lee to NCAA individual championships during his tenure. Lee and Cassie Stevens also won SEC individual titles in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
âWe thank Coach Graba for his leadership over the past 16 seasons and wish him the best moving forward,â Auburn athletic director John Cohen said. âJeff oversaw a period of significant growth in all areas of the gymnastics program while developing outstanding Auburn women.â
Auburn athletics shares that a search for the next head coach of Auburn gymnastics is underway.
