Second-year Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum had a breakthrough season in 2025 following a lackluster rookie campaign. After being given more opportunities on offense in Year 2, can Corum capitalize on it ahead of this season?
His lack of opportunities in his first year in the league is well-documented. He played in all 17 games, yet only rushed 58 times for 207 yards and zero touchdowns. Some fans were clamoring for him to get more playing time when Kyren Williams was struggling with fumbling issues. However, it just wasnât meant to be for the Michigan product that year.
Corum again played all 17 games last season, but amassed nearly 750 yards on the ground on 145 touches and six rushing scores. It was exactly the kind of production that fans were hoping for when he was taken in the 2024 NFL draft. He began getting more touches beginning with the Jaguars game in Week 7, and made the most of them from then on.
Additionally, Corum got a sizable number of carries in the postseason, which bodes well for even greater opportunities this September.
Through the Ramsâ three playoff matchups against the Panthers, Bears and Seahawks, Corum had 26 carries for 119 yards. Williams, on the other hand, rushed 42 times for 183 yards. Itâs a good sign that Corum remained as productive as he was in the second half of the regular season in the playoffs. Sean McVay clearly began trusting him more over the course of last season, and Corum rewarded him for it.
The former Wolverine will be a popular fantasy draft pick entering the 2026 campaign, and for good reason. Corum had a breakthrough season after not having many chances running the ball during his rookie year. His production in the postseason alongside Williams serves as proof that he will continue capitalizing on additional opportunities ahead of his third season.
