According to Will Sammon of The Athletic, the Mets need to boost their offense and Pham brings his veteran presence to the series that starts on Monday. The outfielder will compete with Carson Benge, Brett Baty, Jared Young and Tyrone Taylor for a spot in the corners, with Luis Robert Jr. taking the role in center field.
Pham played for the Mets in 2023 after signing a one-year, $6 million contract. Before being traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks that season, he slashed .268/.348/.472 with 10 home runs and 36 RBI in 79 games for the Mets.
