The New York Mets have had to make some tough decisions over the past few years, and one of them was made a year ago when they moved Kodai Senga to Triple-A. It's tough to get a feel for what the Mets want to do with Senga in the future, but everything right now points to him being on the roster for the short term.

For the Mets, however, it almost feels safe to say that if they were to get a trade offer that makes sense for them to take for the right-hander, they'd do it. In a recent idea from Ryan Shea, it'd be way too good to pass up in a move with the Toronto Blue Jays.

“The Mets would make this trade because, especially if they become sellers at the trade deadline, they can turn a short-term ace into multiple high-upside prospects to rebuild or restock their farm system. By trading Kodai Senga, they acquire Ricky Tiedemann, JoJo Parker, and Johnny King, a mix of top pitching and positional talent with future MLB and fantasy impact,” Shea wrote.

It's very unlikely that the Mets would ever get a trade offer like this for a guy who had the type of struggles he did a year ago. However, if the Blue Jays get desperate due to the injuries, anything is surely possible.
