
Oklahoma City will host a new team in the United Football League starting in spring 2028, with games played in a new downtown stadium. UFL co-owner Mike Repole expressed excitement about bringing professional spring football to a city passionate about the sport.
Oklahomans love football and will be getting even more of it in 2028. The United Football League is expanding to the Sooner State in the spring of 2028. The unnamed Oklahoma City team will play in the to-be-constructed downtown multipurpose stadium.
âWeâre excited to be part of Oklahoma and bring back a pro spring football league to a city and state that loves football,â UFL co-owner Mike Repole told The Oklahoman. âTo me, this is the perfect market for a UFL spring football team.â
Currently, there are eight teams in the UFL, a league formed through a merger of the XFL and the USFL. With Dallas, St. Louis, and Houston, there are opportunities for rivalries to be formed in the expansion.
