Real Madrid losing patience with underperforming midfielder; will put him on transfer list this summer

Real Madrid are facing growing concerns over Eduardo Camavinga at a crucial stage of the season, with his future now under serious doubt.

According to a report from AS, the midfielder has failed to inspire confidence when the team has needed him most.

As a result, Real Madrid are now considering placing him on the transfer list ahead of the summer window.

It must be noted that Real Madrid were recently held to a 1-1 draw by Girona, a result that has only increased pressure ahead of their decisive UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich.

Having lost the first leg 2-1, Alvaro Arbeloa’s side must now produce a strong response in Germany.

The situation is further complicated by the absence of Aurelien Tchouameni, who is suspended for the clash in Munich.

This leaves Camavinga as the natural option to step into the defensive midfield role, a position where he has struggled to convince.

Subpar at best

Against Girona, Madrid’s overall performance lacked control, but Camavinga’s individual display once again came under scrutiny.

Deployed as a holding midfielder, he failed to impose himself and looked uncomfortable in the role.

His positioning and decision-making were questioned, particularly in the build-up to Girona’s equaliser, where he was seen as partly responsible.

This has become a recurring issue throughout the season. Once viewed as one of the most promising young midfielders in Europe, Camavinga is now enduring what is arguably his most difficult campaign since arriving at the club.

His performances have dipped significantly, and criticism has grown sharper in recent weeks.

Real Madrid will make a decision

Internally, Real Madrid have taken note. The club is increasingly concerned about his lack of consistency and his inability to deliver in high-pressure situations.

As a result, the possibility of placing him on the market is now very real.

If that decision is made, there will be no shortage of interest, as Paris Saint-Germain are already monitoring his situation closely and could emerge as a serious contender should Madrid open the door for a transfer.

For now, however, all focus shifts to Munich, where Camavinga has a chance to respond and possibly resurrect his career.
