Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Connelly Early had arguably the best outing of his young MLB career on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins.
Early allowed just one run on two hits with two walks and five strikeouts across six innings.
It was the first time in the southpaw's career that he's pitched six innings over nine starts, including one playoff game.
"Strong outing in our road finale," the Red Sox's official account posted on Bluesky.
Early had previously gone as many as 5 1/3 innings twice, first in his second career MLB outing on Sept. 16, 2025, and then again in his 2026 debut on March 29.
The 24-year-old's numbers on Wednesday were particularly impressive due to the quality of opponent.
The Twins entered the contest second in the American League in runs scored (98), trailing only the Houston Astros.
