Southampton produced a scintillating performance to rout Wrexham 5-1 and leapfrog them into sixth in the Championship table.
Any fear of a hangover from their win over Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday was shortlived, as the Saints raced into a two-goal lead after early strikes from Kuryu Matzuki and Flynn Downes.
Josh Windass then pulled one back for Wrexham before the break at the Racecourse Ground, but any hopes of a comeback were stripped away as Cyle Larin added a third, before his replacement Ross Stewart headed in a Saints fourth. Finn Azaz provided a late fifth.
The win takes Southampton into the play-off places, two points clear of Wrexham in seventh with a game in hand. They are now just six points off Ipswich in second.
