Transfer portal: Tracking Auburn basketball's latest roster moves

The transfer portal has officially opened, and the Auburn Tigers are among many programs quickly scheming to improve their roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Freshman guard Kaden Magwood becomes the latest Tiger to announce their decision for next season. Magwood, who appeared in 20 games for an average of 10.6 minutes per game, is set to enter the transfer portal, according to a report by Auburn Undercover. Magwood joins Filip Jovic with plans to leave the program, while guard Kevin Overton has announced his plans to return to the program for 2026-27.

Nathan King of Auburn Undercover reported Wednesday that freshman guard Kaden Magwood will enter the transfer portal after playing in 20 games this season. Magwood scored a season-high 14 points in Auburn's NIT first-round win over South Alabama and averaged 3.6 points per game in the regular season.

Auburn guard Kevin Overton announces return to the Plains

The first positive piece of transfer portal news came Tuesday afternoon as guard Kevin Overton announced his intent to return to the Tigers' roster via Auburn basketball's social media pages. Overton was third in points with 14.1 per game and was the team's best three-point shooter by connecting on 41.3% of his attempts during the season.

Filip Jovic becomes the first Auburn player to enter the transfer portal

The transfer portal smoke began Tuesday morning as freshman forward Filip Jovic announced plans to enter the transfer portal, becoming the first Tiger to do so. Jovic averaged 11.4 points per game during Auburn's NIT run, which included a 12-point effort in the Tigers' NIT Championship win over Tulsa.
