Mateusz Gamrot got back on track in a big way at UFC 327.
Gamrot (26-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) put his superior grappling skillset on display once again on Saturday at Kaseya Center in Miami when he submitted Esteban Ribovics (15-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) at the 4:19 mark of Round 2 in their lightweight bout.
It was an arm-triangle choke that got the job done for Gamrot, who got just his second finish in nine octagon triumphs. Check out the replay below (via X):
After the win, Gamrot gave a passionate post-fight interview with Joe Rogan where he thanked his camp and coaches at American Top Team before calling out former featherweight title challenger Diego Lopes, who fights Steve Garcia at UFC Freedom 250 in June.
"Second time I took on a guy out of the rankings, second time I showed I should be in the rankings," Gamrot said in his post-fight interview with Rogan. "Give me someone at the f*cking top. Diego Lopes, I heard he wants to move to lightweight. Let's go."
Gamrot is now back in the win column after losing a short-notice main event to Charles Oliveira in October.
