Michael Malone has coached a lot of special basketball players.
North Carolina is marketing him as an expert player developer thanks to that. Malone is UNC's new men's basketball head coach, replacing Hubert Davis, and they're repping his NBA accolades.

Did Malone coach all of those guys? Yes.
Did he develop them all? That might be a stretch.
One social media poster wrote: "This is one of the funniest posts ever, my favorite inclusion here is CP3. Malone was in New Orleans for exactly 1 season and when he was hired Chris Paul was already a 3 time all star with multiple top 5 MVP finishes."
Malone may have been a bit more important for LeBron James. He was an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2005 through 2010.
He was then the Golden State Warriors' lead assistant coach from 2011 through 2013, so he likely played a solid role for Stephen Curry, too.
It's definitely reputable for Malone to have worked with so many of the game's all-time great players.
It also is just a little funny to give him too, too much credit for how they turned out. The best of the best were likely on that track regardless.
