North Carolina guard Jaydon Young has decided to stay with the Tar Heels and will play his final season under coach Michael Malone, he according to Joe Tipton of On3.
Young, a native of Goldsboro, N.C., announced he was entering his name in the portal when the window first opened. He is the second Tar Heel to confirm he is returning, following Luka Bogavacâs announcement Tuesday.
In his lone season at UNC, Young saw limited action, averaging 7.2 minutes in 1.8 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game, with four starts.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound guard began his college career at Virginia Tech, where in his final season he averaged 8.1 points in 22.4 minutes, starting 10 of 32 games.
