It's been an excellent start to the season for the New York Yankees, but it's so early on that the front office has to understand that, in the grand scheme of things, this doesn't mean a whole lot.

Whether the Yankees eventually go out and make a blockbuster trade remains to be seen, but if they plan on doing it, this could be the year when it makes a lot of sense. On paper, and with how they've played early on, the Yankees are the best team in the American League.

Ryan Shea of SI proposed a trade that would probably put the Yankees over the top. As long as the team remains healthy, there's not much of a reason why New York wouldn't be the best team in the American League and probably only rival the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Tatis is still one of the better players in the world, and while he might not be as good as he once was earlier in his career, there's still a strong argument to be made that he's one of the 10 best players in this game. For the Yankees, adding talent is the biggest priority, and Tatis would be exactly that.

This is the type of trade that makes too much sense to make if it becomes available.
