Arizona’s 2028 recruiting class is back to a single commit.
Three days after earning a pledge from 3-star offensive lineman Karmello Calloway, 3-star California edge rusher Simote Tupou announced he was reopening his recruitment.
The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Tupou had committed to Arizona last July, picking the Wildcats over Cal, Colorado State, Hawaii, SMU and UNLV when he was attended a high school in Henderson, Nev., but is now slated to play for St. John Bosco in Bellflower, Calif., for his junior year. Tupou is currently ranked No. 201 nationally in the 2028 class by 247Sports.
Arizona has two commitments in the 2027 class—3-star in-state wide receiver Trey Smith and 3-star Texas athlete Jalani Culpepper—in addition to 2028 pledge Calloway. More commitments for 2027 are expected later this spring and into the summer as unofficial and official visits dominate the recruiting schedule.
