The Athletics are in the middle of a major move as a franchise, and while their new stadium is being built in Las Vegas, the team is playing in a minor league ballpark in Sacramento.
While the rest of the teams in Major League Baseball are playing in their normal home ballparks, the A's are awaiting their new home to be constructed.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the construction is ahead of schedule, but the team's plan for 2027 doesn't seem to be changing at all.
"The Athletics' new ballpark in Las Vegas is ahead of schedule, but the team still plans to remain at the Triple-A ballpark in Sacramento until after the 2027 season," Nightengale reports.
This is some significant news, as the Athletics don't look likely to move off from their Triple-A temporary home until after the 2027 season at the earliest.
Even though the construction of their new ballpark is going well, the A's current plan is still to remain at the Triple-A facility in Sacramento for at least one more season.

The new home of the A's is closing in on the horizon, but there's still almost two years before the Athletics will step onto their new Las Vegas field, likely in 2028 or later, depending on any changes from here on out.
Nightengale's report has the Athletics sticking in Sacramento through at least the 2027 season, which should help the young A's lineup continue to shine in a hitter-friendly park.
It's a temporary home, but it looks as if the A's will be playing a third straight season in a minor league ballpark amid their move to Las Vegas.
