Cleveland Browns are eyeing offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa in the 2026 NFL Draft, but he has been flagged for a back issue during medical checks. Mauigoa is currently undergoing rechecks, with the draft just two weeks away.
The Cleveland Browns will be looking hard at the offensive tackle position early in the 2026 NFL Draft, but one potential option may have a late flag popping up.
Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa was apparently flagged during his medical check at the NFL Combine for a back issue. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Mauigoa is attending medical rechecks to have his back looked at again, with just two weeks left until the draft. Rapoport is reporting that this back issue gave Mauigoa discomfort down the stretch of the 2025 season.
Mauigoa is listed as the fifth-best player in the class according to the consensus board right now. This means that the Browns would likely need to use the sixth overall pick in the draft to secure his services. Given their need for as many cheap contracts and bites at the apple in the top-50 as necessary, the Browns would likely love to trade out of the pick if they have any takers.
If the Browns trade out, the likelihood that Mauigoa is on the board is slim. That is, unless this back issue sounds an alarm with NFL teams. This is something to monitor as we near the NFL Draft.
