Jack Jones, a former starter for the Miami Dolphins, has signed with the San Francisco 49ers in free agency. He recorded a career-high 77 tackles last season with Miami.
Through the first few weeks of the new league year, the Miami Dolphins had only lost one cornerback in free agency, despite having several on the market who were able to sign elsewhere.
However, on Friday, that number doubled, as NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that Jack Jones signed a deal with the San Francisco 49ers after visiting with the team earlier in the day.
Jones, 28, spent just one season with the Dolphins after stints with the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders. Last year, he started all 17 games for Miami, recording a career-high 77 tackles, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one interception.
With Jones and Kader Kohou officially gone, and Rasul Douglas, Ifeatu Melifonwu, Artie Burns and Kendall Sheffield still unsigned on the market, Miami has brought in Darrell Baker, Marco Wilson and Alex Austin to help replace them in 2026.
