“He’s not an RB man” – Polanski on Reitz facing future club
Saturday's game between RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Red Bull Arena will be a special occasion for the away side's Rocco Reitz, who will face his future club with his current one.
Gladbach coach Eugen Polanski has no doubts about the 23-year-old’s commitment, however.
“We expected the question to come. It’s not in my head, and I don’t think it’s in Rocco’s head either," Polanski said at a press conference ahead of the game.
"He's not an RB man, he is a Gladbach man and wants to say goodbye properly.”
He added that the unusual situation could even bring out a stronger performance from the midfielder.
“When you play against your future club, you want to show your best side.”
Reitz is set to join RB Leipzig on a contract running until 2031 this summer.
