Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets in their IPL 2026 match, marking RR's fourth consecutive win. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 78 runs off 26 balls, leading the chase for RR.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel led Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their IPL 2026 match on Friday. RR extended their unbeaten run with a fourth straight win, while RCB suffered their first loss of the season.
The result was built around a partnership between Sooryavanshi and Jurel, who took control early and pushed RR to 97/1 in the Powerplay.
Chasing 202, RR started quickly with boundaries. Yashasvi Jaiswal was out for 13, but Sooryavanshi took charge. The 15-year-old reached his half-century in just 15 balls, his second of the season, and scored 78 off 26 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes.
He added 108 runs in 37 balls with Jurel. Jurel played a supporting role and remained not out on 81 off 43 balls, hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes.
RCB had a chance when Krunal Pandya took two wickets in the 9th over, dismissing Sooryavanshi and Shimron Hetmyer (0) in consecutive balls. Josh Hazlewood then removed Riyan Parag for 3.
Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja (24 not out off 25) then added 68 runs to take RR home in 18 overs with six wickets in hand.
Earlier, RCB recovered from early losses to score 201/8 in 20 overs. Rajat Patidar made 63 off 40 balls, while Venkatesh Iyer added 29 not out off 15 balls to take the total past 200.
RR chose to bowl first after winning the toss. Jofra Archer dismissed Phil Salt for a duck on the first ball of the match. He struck again in the third over to remove Devdutt Padikkal (14 off 7).
Virat Kohli made 32 off 16 balls before Ravi Bishnoi dismissed him in the fifth over. When Krunal Pandya was out soon after, RCB were 62/4 in seven overs. Jitesh Sharma (5) and Tim David (13) also fell, leaving RCB at 94/6 in 11 overs.
Patidar then steadied the innings. He reached his half-century in 35 balls and later increased the scoring rate. The final over produced 21 runs, helping RCB cross 200. Romario Shepherd also scored 22 earlier in the innings.
Meanwhile, focus now shifts to Saturday's two matches. Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in New Chandigarh in the first match, set to begin at 3:30pm.
In the second match of the day, Delhi Capitals will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.
