Marseille predicted XI v Metz: Mason Greenwood returns, CJ Egan-Riley out
There is a returnee and a new absentee for Olympique de Marseille as they prepare to host FC Metz at the Vélodrome on Friday night.
Mason Greenwood missed the 2-1 loss against AS Monaco last Sunday due to suspension. However, he is once again at Habib Beye’s disposal and he is expected to start. It will likely mean Hamed Troaré dropping back to the bench for Marseille.
CJ Egan-Riley started in that defeat last weekend, but, tracking Folarin Balogun, he suffered a thigh injury and that has subsequently ruled him out of the game against Metz. As a result, Leonardo Balerdi will likely come back in for OM, although it is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who will continue to wear the armband. Geoffrey Kondogbia and Nayef Aguerd also remain absent for Les Phocéens.
Geronimo Rulli; Facundo Medina, Leonardo Balerdi, Benjamin Pavard; Igor Paixao, Quinten Timber, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Timothy Weah; Amine Gouiri, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mason Greenwood. (L’Éq)
