Ferland Mendy has returned to full training and is expected to start for Real Madrid in the Champions League Quarterfinals against Bayern Munich next Wednesday. His recovery follows a hamstring injury sustained during the Round of 16 match against Manchester City.
Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy completed yet another training session with the group and appears ready to start when Los Blancos take on Bayern Munich in the return leg of the Champions League Quarterfinals next Wednesday, according to reports published in the Spanish press.
Mendy suffered a hamstring injury during the first leg of the Round of 16 against Manchester City, but his performance up until that point was spectacular. Álvaro Carreras has been underwhelming for quite some time and that’s why Real Madrid’s coaching staff are hoping to see Mendy return to action in Munich.
Real Madrid will be expected to make some rotations when they host Girona this Friday. Still, Los Blancos will have some time off ahead of the return leg against Bayern, so Arbeloa will likely deploy a strong starting XI tomorrow either way.
