With the transfer portal being in full swing, Michigan State hockey has seen one of its first casualties leave the program. The Spartans are losing goaltender Dolan Gilbert, who was a fan favorite in East Lansing.
Gilbert, a third-string goaltender this past season, played in two games in his Spartans career, while being selfless in the role of the third goalie on a roster.
Beginning his collegiate career at Concordia (Wisconsin), where he appeared in 10 games, it is more than likely that he is finding a place where he can receive more playing time. Michigan State will have Melvin Strahl and Joshua Ravensbergen as their goalies in 2026-27.
