The Rams view Makai Lemon as a perfect fit due to his toughness and character, especially as they deal with concerns regarding Puka Nacua.
Peter Schrager described Makai Lemon as 'tough as nails' and an 'absolute dawg,' indicating that he embodies the qualities the Rams value.
The Rams currently have standout receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but they are looking to enhance their offensive talent with potential additions like Makai Lemon.
The Los Angeles Rams are highly interested in USC receiver Makai Lemon, potentially eyeing him for the 2026 NFL draft. His toughness and character align well with the team's values, especially as they navigate off-field issues with current player Puka Nacua.
The Los Angeles Rams have an abundance of talent on offense. Last season, they had the best offense in the NFL, which resulted in Matthew Stafford winning MVP. Puka Nacua has had to deal with some off-field issues, which raises some concerns. This could ultimately open the door for USC Trojan receiver Makai Lemon to be the Rams' guy at pick 13 in the 2026 NFL draft.
Peter Schrager, who is as tapped into what is happening in the league as it gets, went on the Pat McAfee show and described how the Rams are feeling about Trojan receiver Makai Lemon right now. Here is what he had to say:
"Makai Lemon is everything that Les Snead and Sean McVay love. He is tough as nails, and he's an absolute dawg."
The Rams addressed their biggest need at corner this offseason in a big way, acquiring Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. The Rams already have two stud receivers in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but in the NFL, more is better. Makai Lemon fits in with the Rams like a glove, with not only his talent but also his character.
Matthew Stafford has maybe only a couple more runs at another championship, and adding Makai Lemon extends those chances immensely. Lemon ending up with the Rams would be the best-case scenario for him as well.
