Victor Munoz has been linked with both Barcelona and Real Madrid after impressing for Osasuna and receiving a first call-up to the Spain team this season.
The youngster actually spent time at La Masia before moving onto the Spanish capital and Madrid want to make sure he doesn’t end up heading back to Barcelona, according to AS.
Real have a right of first refusal on Munoz, a purchase option, and half of his economic rights and are “not willing” to lose him to their bitter rivals.
Munoz has changed agents recently, fuelling more speculation about a move to Barca, but the report is adamant that this has nothing to do with a possible future transfer to Camp Nou.
Premier League clubs and Serie A teams are also said to be interested in Munoz, who has a release clause set at €40 million, but Madrid can buy him back over the next three summers for €8m, €9m, or €10m.
