Jonathan David is expected to start as a sole striker in Juventus’ away Serie A game against Giacomo Raspadori’s Atalanta.

It kicks off at 20:45 CET (19:45 BST) at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo.

Italy international and Atalanta striker Gialuca Scamacca trained with his teammates on Friday, but is not fit to start, so coach Raffaele Palladino is expected to pick Charles De Ketelaere and Raspadori up front.

There’s a doubt in defence on whether Honest Ahanor or Sead Kolasinac will start, while Isak Hien is injured.

Juventus are expected to switch to a three-man defence, with Emil Holm returning to the starting XI after over a month on the sidelines.

Italian sources, including Gazzetta and Sky Sport, claim that David is the favourite to start as the Old Lady’s lone striker, with Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceiçao deployed as attacking midfielders.

Vasilije Adzic, Mattia Perin, Dusan Vlahovic and Juan Cabal are injured for the Bianconeri, and Weston McKennie is serving a one-game ban.
