It was a scary moment to be sure.

Detroit Tigers outfielders Parker Meadows and Riley Greene collided in the outfield on Thursday. Meadows got the worst of it.

Their heads made impact with one another, and Meadows stayed on the ground bleeding.

Meadows eventually was able to sit on a medical cart that brought him away from the field.

According to MLB.com, Meadows spent the night at a local hospital for observation.

“It was a terrible feeling,” Greene said after the game, via MLB.com. “I still feel terrible.”

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said after the game that it appeared the bleeding had come from Parkers biting the inside of his mouth during the play.

“Those are scary collisions," Hinch said. "You don't know what you're going to get when you get there. Obviously we're going to get him checked out for everything, but this one worries me.”

Meadows is a 26-year old centerfielder who is batting .250 on the young season.

He was a second-round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, the same draft class as Greene.

At 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, Meadows is one of the most physically impressive centerfielders in baseball.

The Tigers will surely all wake up Friday hoping that the next news they hear on Meadows is good after a scary scene during their loss to the Twins on Thursday.
