Tyson Fury returns to the ring on April 11 to fight Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. This marks Fury's comeback after a brief retirement from boxing.
Tyson Fury no longer rules atop the heavyweight division, but there's little doubt he can still make some noise.
Fury ends his brief retirement from boxing on April 11, taking on twice-beaten divisional contender Arslanbek Makhmudov in a headlining bout from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Fury's return had been speculated upon since he first announced his plans to retire. He's still yet to face former British heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in what would be one of the most commercially lucrative fights in all of boxing. Turki Alalshikh, who has put on a number of Fury and Joshua fights in recent years, has long teased a bout between the two later this year.
First the former lineal champion must successfully comeback against Makhmudov, who's won two fights in the time Fury's been out of the ring.
"For the first time in forever, I’m the hunter. I’m not the hunted," Fury said at the final press conference before his fight with Makhmudov. "And we all know that when I’ve always been the hunter in the past ... I feel actually sorry for Arslanbek Makhmudov because he’s got to face me, an injury‑free Tyson Fury and on good form. I’ve had good preparation and I’m going to make an example of him."

While Makhmudov poses a threat for any heavyweight, standing at 6-foot-5½ with bona fide punching power, there was a reason he was chosen as the opponent for Fury's comeback. Makhmudov is a plodding puncher, without the footwork or speed to outbox many of the division's top fighters.
Fury's layoff could be viewed as a negative, but it's given him more than enough time to get into fighting shape, and a fit Tyson Fury should dance around Makhmudov, thumping him with power punches as Agit Kabayel once did on his way to a TKO victory.
Makhmudov has still shown himself to be durable in the past, despite his two stoppage defeats, and at 37 years old it remains to be seen just how much thunder Fury has left in the gloves, but he should have little trouble pounding his way to a decision on the cards.
Prediction: Fury def. Makhmudov by unanimous decision
Fury is a -600 favorite to emerge victorious in his comeback fight, while Makhmudov is a +400 underdog. The over/under is set at 8.5 rounds.
