2027 four-star cornerback Hayden Stepp has listed the Oregon Ducks among his final four schools for recruitment, alongside Alabama, Georgia, and California. He is a five-star prospect ranked as the No. 5 cornerback in his class and plays for Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.
With Brandon Finney Jr., Ify Obidegwu and Ne'eem Offord, the Oregon Ducks are well-stocked at the cornerback position ahead of the 2026 season. The future is bright, as all are within their first two seasons of college football. But that's not stopping head Dan Lanning and defensive coordinator Chris Hampton from continuing to stockpile talent at that positon.
2027 four-star cornerback Hayden Stepp released a list of the final four programs that he's considering in his recruitment, with Oregon squarely in the mix. Included alongside the Ducks are top-level programs in Alabama and Georgia, with a familiar face in California making the list as well, led by former Oregon defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi.
Per On3's Hayes Fawcett, Stepp has official visits scheduled to all three programs.
Standing 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Stepp is rated as a five-star and is ranked as the No. 5 cornerback in the 2027 class, per 247 Sports Composite. He competes for the prestigious Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, NV. He's the top-ranked player in the state.
During the 2025 season, Stepp was a MaxPreps Junior All-American, totaling 24 tackles and four pass breakups. As a sophomore the season prior, he racked up 20 tackles, six pass breakups and an interceptions as he began to separate himself as one of the top cover men in the nation.
Currently, the Ducks have one member of their 2027 class that's a fellow cornerback, as four-star Ai'King Hall recently committed. Though it's still early in the process, Oregon has the 11th-ranked recruiting class in the country.
If they could reel in the commitment of Stepp, it would continue an impressive multi-year run of the Ducks securing blue-chip cornerbacks out of the high school ranks.
