Barcelona star travels with squad despite being ruled out vs Atlético
A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has travelled with the rest of the club’s first-team squad, for their upcoming meeting with Atlético Madrid.
This comes despite the young defender being unavailable for selection for the fixture.
Barcelona are of course primed to return to action on the continent on Tuesday evening. In the return leg of a Champions League quarter-final tie, the Blaugrana will make the trip to the Metropolitano, to lock horns with Diego Simeone’s Atlético.
The aforementioned Pau Cubarsí is suspended for the matchup, after being sent off in the tie’s opener last week.
As alluded to above, though, keen to contribute as best he can through support for his teammates, the 19-year-old has made the trip to Madrid.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Pau Cubarsí travelled to Madrid with Barcelona squad despite suspension as players and Flick agreed on being all together.’
