The Toronto Blue Jays are going to be without George Springer for a while due to a fractured left toe.
The injury has forced a promotion from Triple-A Buffalo, and it appears that the biggest possible name down there is the guy who's coming up.
MLB insider Mike Rodriguez reports that it'll be Eloy Jimenez joining the Blue Jays.

Jimenez's name likely at least sounds familiar. He's a former Silver Slugger winner who once took MLB by storm as a 22-year old slugger for the Chicago White Sox. He hit 31 home runs in that rookie season back in 2019.
He then hit double-digit homers in each of the next four seasons, although never more than 18 as injuries plagued him.
Jimenez could still hit all along, with a career .269 average and .780 OPS at the MLB level. Defensive struggles and drops in average pushed him out of full-time roles as he moved from Chicago to Baltimore in 2024.
Jimenez didn't make it to MLB in 2025, splitting the year in Triple-A between the Rays (Durham) and Blue Jays (Buffalo).
So far this season at Buffalo, Jimenez is hitting .281 with one double and one homer in 10 games.
He won't necessarily have to play every day in Springer's DH spot, but it seems likely he'll at least get starts against left-handed pitching.
There certainly would be worse options to call up than Jimenez.
