The Toronto Blue Jays were surely dreaming big when they gave Dylan Cease a seven-year, $210 million contract in free agency.

Cease is delivering on all those dreams so far.

He's set an all-time Toronto franchise record -- most strikeouts through three starts in Blue Jays history.

Cease has made these three starts so far:

• 3/28 vs. ATH: 5.1 innings, 1 ER, 12 K
• 4/3 @ CWS: 4.1 innings, 2 ER, 6 K
• 4/8 vs. LAD: 5.0 innings, 1 ER, 8 K

It was a particularly satisfying start for Cease on Wednesday against the Dodgers. The Blue Jays lost in seven games in the World Series last year to the Dodgers, and Cease's signing was in part to try to put the Blue Jays over the top.

So far, Cease is as advertised. He's added a nasty new changeup, and he's making lots of hitters look foolish.

And the Blue Jays won over the Dodgers in the series finale on Wednesday in large part because Cease is on a roll.

Now, he'll just have to keep it up the entire season.
