Weâve got a new transfer portal target to report for the Kentucky Wildcats: Robert Morris forward DeSean Goode.
According to Tristan Pharis at KY Insider, Kentucky will have a Zoom video call with Goode on Wednesday.
A 6-8, 230-pound West Virginia native, Goode will be a junior next season with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He began his career at IU Indianapolis before transferring to Robert Morris last offseason.
This season, Goode averaged 15.2 points on 62.9% shooting (57.1% from 3-point range on 1.9 attempts per game), 8.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 30.9 minutes per game, earning him Horizon League Player of the Year honors.
Goode is currently ranked 58th overall by On3 and 51st by 247 Sports. He primarily played the 4 spot this season while occasionally logging minutes as a small-ball 5.
If Goode were to land at Kentucky, heâd likely be the Wildcatsâ starting 4 next season. While there are bigger names out there, having a 4 like Goode who can stretch the floor would be massive for a Kentucky offense likely to have at least one non-3-point shooter in the starting lineup in Malachi Moreno.
It also means the Wildcats could potentially have lineups with five shooters on the floor when Goode plays the 5. Imagine Mark Pope having that at his disposal after all the 3-point struggles his Cats endured this season.
