Duke basketball finished the 2025-26 season with a 35-3 record but fell short in the NCAA Tournament. With key players likely leaving for the NBA, the team is expected to utilize the transfer portal to strengthen its roster for the 2026-27 season.
For many programs, Dukeâs 2025-26 season would be considered a success. The Blue Devils finished 35-3, won the ACC regular-season and tournament titles, and were the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament before falling to UConn in the Elite Eight.
But this is Duke, and anything short of a national title is considered a failure. Jon Scheyer will try to rebuild his roster as the Blue Devils try to capture that sixth national title next season. With Cameron Boozer, Isaiah Evans and Patrick Ngongba likely off to the NBA, Duke is already down three starters from this past seasonâs squad, but the No. 1-ranked recruiting class is coming in to try to fill their shoes.
Scheyer and his staff might also look to the transfer portal to try to find missing pieces. Here is an up-to-date tracker of Dukeâs portal activity.
Darren Harris (G) - The sophomore saw his playing time go up with Caleb Foster missing the ACC Tournament and the first part of the NCAA Tournament, but never worked himself into the rotation on a consistent basis.
Nikolas Khamenia (F) - It's sort of a surprise that Khamenia would leave after a freshman season in which he saw 19.8 minutes per game, averaging 5.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
