Game two of three with the Twins.
Iâve been to games in Minnesota, I really liked the town. The âbig mallâ on the other hand was ugly. And I found out that, if you are in Fargo, doing the accent they use in the movie Fargo doesnât go over big.
But the downtown area is nice, and they have a great walking mall, with some great bars near the ballpark. But mostly I liked watching Jose Bautista hit home runs there.
We drove to Minnesota, which is a two and half day drive from Calgary. It would have been quicker, but the border guards didnât believe that we were going to Minnesota to watch baseball (I donât know why they thought we were going to Minnesota). We were stopped at the border for a couple of hours, put in separate rooms, so they could talk to use one-on-on. And go through my car.
After far too long, they decided that it was possible that we were going to watch baseball. But when we got to the games, there were hundreds of Jaysâ fans from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. There must have been several that passed through that border.
Go Jays Go.
