It's not a problem you generally notice.
But on Wednesday night, the San Francisco Giants had an outfielder late getting out to his position for an absurd reason.
Jerar Encarnacion lost track of his glove.
Yeah, like the one thing you need to properly play the outfield.
Giants beat reporter Justice delos Santos reported the odd news on Wednesday night, writing specifically that Encarnacion "didn't know where his glove was."
Giants manager Tony Vitello spoke about it postgame, too. And with the way his comments have been received so far this season, it was always going to be fascinating to see the way he came out on this.
âIâd rather defend our guys to the death, but that oneâs a little elementary," Vitello told reporters.

Vitello certainly isn't wrong.
The glove is pretty much the most important baseball item. Each player has a glove that fits their hand best, and one they trust to make the plays.
Some are better at fielding than others, but without the trustworthy glove, everything would be different for just about everyone.
Encarnacion probably doesn't want to test that out. He should make sure a glove comes with him now wherever he goes.
