Michigan football is currently leading in the recruitment of 4-star running back Tyson Robinson from Brandon, Mississippi. After two recent visits to Ann Arbor, Robinson, ranked as the No. 44 overall prospect by ESPN, has shown increased interest in joining the Wolverines.
For the longest time, Michigan football could not recruit the state of Mississippi. It had long only had one player hail from there, Jeremy LeSueur, but with linebacker Kaden Catchings committing and signing to the Wolverines this offseason, perhaps the luck in that state has changed.
And it apparently has.
According to Rivals' Chad Simmons, Michigan is surging for 2027 Jackson (Miss.) Brandon four-star running back Tyson Robinson. Rated highest by ESPN as the No. 44 overall prospect, regardless of position, after visiting Ann Arbor twice recently, the Wolverines now have the lead for Robinson's services.
With Kyle Whittingham leading the program into a new era in Ann Arbor, the Wolverines are building momentum on the recruiting trail, and one of their top targets is four-star running back Tyson Robinson.
The No. 154 prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking out of Brandon (Miss.) has now visited Michigan twice in a short span, including a return trip over the weekend that only strengthened his interest.
Robinson still has a slate of visits upcoming over the late-spring early summer, including an official visit to Michigan on June 12. But he still plans to see Arizona State this weekend, before taking official visits later to Miami, Alabama, and Tennessee.
Also a track and field star, Robinson ran the 100-meter dash at 11.15 seconds as a freshman. The Wolverines picked up the top running back in the previous class, 2026, when they managed to secure five-star tailback Savion Hiter.
