The San Francisco 49ers are considering wide receiver KC Concepcion with their No. 27 pick in the upcoming draft, according to ESPN's Matt Miller. Concepcion, known for his speed and skills, had impressive college stats with 185 receptions and 25 touchdowns.
The San Francisco 49ers could have a lot of options with their first-round pick, but ESPN draft insider Matt Miller believes one receiver is "a name to watch" with the No. 27 selection.
Miller wrote this week that the 49ers "have been heavily connected to wide receivers by teams when running through mock draft exercises," and he pinpointed Texas A&M's KC Concepcion as the player to look for when San Francisco turns in its draft card.
The 49ers-Concepcion pairing has been a frequent one in recent expert mock drafts because of his speed and skillset. The 6-foot, 196-pound receiver caught 185 receptions for 2,218 yards and 25 touchdowns and rushed 70 times for 431 yards and two touchdowns in three collegiate seasons (two at North Carolina State and one at Texas A&M). Concepcion also returned 25 punts for 456 yards and two scores in 2025.
Concepcion would slide right into the WR3 role for the 49ers immediately in 2026 behind Mike Evans and Ricky Pearsall, with a sprinkling of Christian Kirk and Jacob Cowing as well. Adding a player like Concepcion to this offense would also open up the door for a different level of play-calling from Kyle Shanahan and give Brock Purdy another weapon to work with at the receiver position after the departures of Kendrick Bourne and Jauan Jennings.
It's not hard to see why the 49ers would want Concepcion. The issue will be if he's even available when the 49ers are on the clock, or if they'll need to move up to take him somewhere earlier in the first round.
