ONE Fight Night 42 Main Event Result: Dzhabir Dzhabrailov Finishes Chase Mann, Keeps Perfect Record Alive

Dzhabir Dzhabrailov proved why he may be the most dangerous man in the welterweight MMA division, as he dropped Chase “Mannimal” Mann with a thunderous left hand and finished him off with ground punches to claim a first-round knockout victory at ONE Fight Night 42.

The heart-pounding showdown topped the stacked card, which aired live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, April 10, and it delivered chaotic action for as long as it lasted.

The two undefeated welterweights entered the main event knowing the winner would be knocking on two-division ONE World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee‘s door. For most of the opening round, it looked like the Arkansas powerhouse was about to kick it down.

Mann shot for a clean single-leg takedown and pressed the 21-year-old Turkish demolition man into the ropes, controlling the pace and dictating the terms of engagement from the outset.

When Dzhabrailov clawed back to his feet, the 29-year-old American was right back on him, clipping him with a short right hand that sent him crashing to the canvas and swarming immediately with knees to the head and body. The finish looked like a formality.

Dzhabrailov, however, has never been a man who reads from the expected script. He scrambled to his feet with a clean reversal, reclaimed his space with sharp push kicks, and waited for the right moment.

The much-taller Turkish phenom started moving forward and fired a massive right hand, which missed the mark. However, he followed through without hesitation, pivoting into a thunderous left hook that landed flush on the face and instantly dropped Mann to the mat.

Not giving him a moment to breathe, Dzhabrailov immediately unloaded two hammerfists that put the American out, causing referee Olivier Coste to intervene and wave off the contest at 2:31 of round one.

With the triumph, Dzhabrailov moved his record to a spotless 7-0 and earned his fifth consecutive first-round stoppage victory. Also, it may have earned him the next crack at Lee’s ONE Welterweight MMA World Title.
