Los Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Robert Stephenson underwent elbow surgery and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 MLB season, Angels manager Kurt Suzuki announced.
Stephenson, who turned 33 in February, missed the 2024 season because of injury and pitched just 10 innings for the Angels in 2025.
Stephenson, a first-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds in the 2011 MLB Draft, posted a 5.15 ERA in 104 appearances over five seasons for the Reds from 2016-20.
Stephenson pitched for the Colorado Rockies, Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays before signing as a free agent with the Angels in January 2024.
Stephenson has posted a 6.75 ERA in eight career appearances against the Reds.
