Joel Embiid has been ruled out for the Philadelphia 76ers' game against the Houston Rockets due to illness. This comes as the team faces a challenging back-to-back road trip.
The Philadelphia 76ers will have their hands full when they pay a visit to the Houston Rockets on Thursday. It is the second of a 3-game road trip, and the first night of a back-to-back, when they take on a Rockets team that has won seven games in a row.
The challenge was already tough for Philadelphia, but now, it will have to get the job done with Joel Embiid sidelined.
After originally not being on the injury report, Embiid has now been ruled out against the Rockets due to an illness. When considering it is the first night of the back-to-back, it makes sense, but it's unfortunate timing when considering how much is on the line for the Sixers on Thursday. One will have to wonder if the big fella can play on Friday against the Indiana Pacers to finish the road trip.
With Embiid sidelined, the onus now falls on to Adem Bona and Andre Drummond to lead the way against Rockets All-Star Alperen Sengun in the paint. Tip off from Toyota Center is set for 8 p.m. EDT.
