Texas A&M is set to have a virtual meeting with VCU transfer guard Terrence Hill Jr. after a successful NCAA Tournament run, as the team looks to retool its roster for the upcoming season.
Texas A&M's first full offseason under head coach Bucky McMillan has begun, and after making it to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year, the Aggies are in good shape under the former Samford coach who, after having to completely rebuild his first roster from the transfer portal, finishing with an impressive 22-12 record, including 11 wins in conference play.
Led by senior forward Rashaun Agee, who finished as the teams scoring and rebounding leader, the 2025-2026 roster will lose several starters/contributors, and while nearly every team in the country will have to retool their roster, McMillan's fast-paced system requires players to shoot a high percentage from the field, while while the front court also plays a significant role in setting the tone, which requires size and athleticism.
So far, after the transfer portal officially opened on Tuesday, McMillan and his staff have reached out to several intriguing options at guard and forward, including VCU transfer guard Terrence Hill Jr., who, according to multiple sources, including AggieYell insiders Jaxson Callaway and Kannon Torres, will have a Zoom meeting with the Aggie coaching staff on Wednesday night.
On paper, Hill is a perfect fit for McMillan's system after leading VCU in scoring (15 PPG) and assists (2.8). The Oregon native shot nearly 47% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc. If the Aggies can land his commitment, this should build momentum before the transfer portal closes on April 21, giving the coaching staff plenty of time to accomplish their goals.
