The Kentucky Wildcats are set to be in the mix for Syracuse forward Donnie Freeman, who officially entered the transfer portal on Tuesday.
According to KSRâs Zack Geoghegan and SIâs Wyatt Huff, Kentucky is in the mix for the 6-9, 205-pound big man out of Washington, D.C. The soon-to-be junior has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
This past season, Freeman averaged 16.5 points (47.4% shooting), 7.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.9 blocks. He shot 30.2% from 3-point range on 3.7 attempts per game, so heâs fully capable of knocking them down from distance. That was something Kentucky got very little of from the 4 and 5 spots this past season.
And with Malachi Moreno likely returning after attempting just three triples all season, Kentucky must add at least one frontcourt player who can knock down 3s.
Freeman is ranked 10th overall in the transfer portal by USA Today, signaling that heâll be a major pickup for whoever lands his services for the 2026-27 college basketball season.
